Developed storyboards and visual direction for a 90-second narrative campaign animation highlighting generative AI applications in clinical trial design for the AWS Healthcare & Life Sciences booth at HIMSS.
Challenge
The piece needed to reflect the growing pressure on clinical trial teams—tight timelines, recruitment challenges, increasing regulatory demands, and the cost of delays—while introducing AI as a credible solution within a highly regulated healthcare context.
It also had to work across multiple formats, capturing attention in a busy conference booth without sound while supporting deeper engagement in narrated digital versions.
Approach & Role
I led storyboard development and visual direction, shaping the narrative from industry challenges through to AI-enabled solutions. I defined the overall look and feel, designed the first half of the piece, and directed a second designer in building out the latter half to maintain a consistent visual arc.

I structured the animation to move from problem to resolution, using illustration and motion to convey key ideas while keeping pacing easy to follow across both silent and narrated formats. I partnered with art direction and motion design through final execution.
ImpactFeatured at HIMSS and used across digital channels, the animation helped communicate AWS’s approach to AI in clinical trials for healthcare audiences.
