Yuba Forest Restoration (YFR) provides fuels reduction and defensible space services in the greater Nevada County region.
This logo identity project drew from 1970s outdoor gear patches, vintage forestry logos, and retro service-company branding, resulting in a badge-like mark that feels practical, approachable, and rooted in the Sierra foothills.
Early exploration tested a few ways the identity could balance utility, warmth, and regional character. I looked at different badge structures, tree forms, and framing devices to find a direction that felt memorable without feeling overdesigned.
Early Concept Exploration
Once the final concept was chosen, I provided variations to fit different production needs: full-color for t-shirts and patches, one-color for equipment decals and uniform embroidery.
